Rios designed a 315,000 sqft workspace for Vrbo, a vacation rental company, using a data-driven process to design and organize the nine different levels, optimizing them for collaboration and productivity. Focus groups helped determine how, where, and when people worked and informed proximity and circulation of spaces. the workplace is divided into five areas, organized by ecosystems and their geography with distinct color and furnishings. Arktura’s Solutions Studio® worked with Rios to develop baffle wall and ceilings solutions that curve around corners and smoothly across wall and ceiling. The Topography level of eight and nine, based on forest levels, represent the forest canopy through the curving custom gridded wall and ceiling feature. The Limnology level inspired by lake bodies encompasses the tenth and eleventh floor, features an acoustic baffle wall that embodies the data of the fluid movement of the bodies of water.
