This gorgeous art canopy display was designed to represent the topographical nature of its home city where the landscape has been shaped by ever-changing waterways and population density.
The undulating shape of this masterwork aluminum fabrication was formed by adopting the overlays and intersections from the mapped geological features in the city’s harbor region over time. The result is a breathtaking display that hangs overhead and invites visitors to gaze upward and reflect upon the connection between a shifting geological structure and the human landscape.

Scoreboard LAX, Los Angeles, CA, iD Group (Architect), Featuring: Solutions Studio by Arktura
Located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal in LAX, Scoreboard’s perforated panel system was designed “in the round” as a graphic, sculptural object. Because the canopy was meant for a sports bar, our design team based the structure on hexagonal cutouts as an artistic reference to a soccer ball in midair.
Additionally, there are lights installed within the double-layered panels, creating intricate levels of contrast and light variation that catch the eye of everyone walking by.
